RIO® Elite Gold XP

The Gold XP’s medium head length and weight make it the most versatile line in our Gold range. The extra power over the regular RIO Gold allows the Gold XP to excel in the widest range of casting techniques and lengths, offering a true performance spectrum. With a perfect balance of long distance line control from its medium length rear taper and a balanced belly for improved rotation of indicators and nymphs, the Gold XP is equally at home casting dries at distance, heavier rigs in deeper areas, and fast casts when required.
With its medium length 1.70m front taper (in WF5F) the Gold XP is still perfectly capable of precise presentations with finesse. The extra weight also makes the line more comfortable for fishing at shorter distances, typical of wading on small streams.
This line is constructed with RIO’s low stretch ConnectCore Plus (Elite only) which results in incredible levels of sensitivity when casting and fishing allowing for better bite detection, faster strikes and much better control when landing a fish. In addition, this line is equipped with SlickCast, the technology that provides fabulous glide and superior durability.
